The Sons of Oil
A GENTILE REMNANT THAT IS PROMISED PROTECTION DURING THE HOUR OF TRIAL
There is a particular church mentioned in Revelation 3:10 that has been promised PROTECTION from the hour of trial. This is the gentile church of Philadelphia. Among all the seven gentile churches found in Asia Minor, this particular one is found blameless and without reproach. This church is characterized by her brotherly love and her faithfulness to God’s word.
Revelation 3:10 “Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.”
Each of the seven churches in Revelations 2 and 3 are compared to a lampstand. Therefore the church of Philadelphia is the one lampstand from among the gentile lampstands that is blameless.
Revelation 1:20 “The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
On the other hand, we must remember that the Apostle Paul compares Gentile believers to branches from a WILD OLIVE TREE that have been grafted into the cultivated olive tree.”
Romans 11:2 “After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!”
A JEWISH REMNANT THAT IS PROMISED PROTECTION DURING THE HOUR OF TRIAL
There is also a particular group of Jewish believers mentioned in Revelation 7:3-4 and Revelation14:1-5 that has been promised supernatural PROTECTION during the hour of trial. These Jewish believers will be marked with a special seal of protection because they belong to God. Revelation 14:1-5 says that these believers are blameless. They have Jesus' name and the Father’s name written on their foreheads; therefore we can say that they have been formed into the likeness of Christ and the Father. They are pure and undefiled. They follow the lamb wherever he goes. No lie is found in their mouths because they preach an unadulterated gospel. Their message and doctrine are clear as water, without blemish.
Revelation 7:3-4 “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.”
Revelation 14:1-5 “Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. 3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4 These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. 5 No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.”
THE TWO WITNESSES OF REVELATION 11 WHO ARE PROMISED PROTECTION DURING THE HOUR OF TRIAL
Revelation 11 talks about TWO WITNESSES that no one can harm. These two witnesses are given power from above to prophesy and witness the pure gospel of salvation in the land of Israel during the hour of trial. These witnesses are compared to the two Olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of all the earth. These two witnesses are promised supernatural PROTECTION during the time of their witness. When these witnesses speak, fire comes out of their mouths. I believe the word of their testimony is so pure, that it cleanses and refines like fire. No lie is found in their mouths because the word of their testimony is blameless. These witnesses are the ones who get to overcome by the blood of the lamb, the word of their testimony, and by not clinging to life when facing death.
Revelation 11:3-5 “And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.” 5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies.”
I believe that the faithful witnesses of the gentile remnant that are promised supernatural PROTECTION during the hour of trial mentioned in Revelation 3:20 and the faithful witnesses of the Jewish remnant that are given supernatural PROTECTION during the hour of trial mentioned in Revelation 7:3-4 are the same witnesses described again in Revelation 11. These are Jews and Gentiles working together in unity as one new man. These are the two olive trees mentioned in Zechariah 4 that released their oil to become one powerful lampstand (one new man) that overflows with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. These two olive trees, the wild one and the natural one have the specific characteristics of purity, and faithfulness to the Lamb and to his word, and that is why they are full of power.
Zachariah 4:1-3”Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up, like someone awakened from sleep. 2 He asked me, “What do you see?”I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven channels to the lamps. 3 Also there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.”Then I asked the angel, “What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?”
Zachariah 4:12-14 “Again I asked him, “What are these two olive branches beside the two gold pipes that pour out golden oil?”13 He replied, “Do you not know what these are?”“No, my lord,” I said.14 So he said, “These are the two who are anointed to[b] serve the Lord of all the earth.”
They are the wise virgins whose lamps are full of oil because they were formed into the likeness of Christ. These are the ones that chose to surrender their will to the Father’s will. These are the ones who forsake their own lives for the sake of Christ. These are the Jews and the gentiles that bare Christ's name and the Father’s name because they have grown into perfect unity, into the stature of the perfect man. These are the ones that are found blameless because they have become one with the father and with each other.
John 17:21” I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”
There is no lie found in their mouths because their message is pure. They have remained faithful to the word of God and they have reached perfect unity because of their brotherly love. They don’t tolerate the division and idolatry of Babylon.
These are the ones that will move in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare the way of the Lord’s appearance dressed in the sackcloth of repentance. As Elijah the prophet, they have the power to shut the skies. And they are called to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.
Malachi 4:5-6 “See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. 6 He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”
These are the ones that will release plagues and judgment over the Antichrist just as old brother Aaron and young brother Moses did. As Aaron and Moses, they will come together and they will be empowered as these two brothers were empowered in Egypt. They will perform great signs and wonders with the purpose of bringing Israel out of spiritual captivity. As they instruct the Israelites to apply the blood of the lamb over the doorposts of their hearts, they will part the seas of unbelief and will lead Israel out of spiritual Egypt and Sodome into freedom. Once they bring Israel to the wilderness, she will find a place where she will be nourished and protected by the Lord for 1260 days or 42 months.
Revelation 12: 6 “The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.”
These 42 months represent the 42 camps in the wilderness that Israel had to go through before entering the promised land. The promised land in this case is the millennial reign of Christ, where the Son of David will establish his Kingdom for one thousand years.
These witnesses are the Lord’s victorious ones! Those who will be used as a powerful instrument because they look like the Son. These are those that have enough oil for their lamp, thus having plenty of light during the dark hour. They are the ones the prophet Daniel spoke in Daniel 12:3. These are the wise ones that will shine as bright as the sky. The ones who will lead many to righteousness and will shine like the stars forever. These are the sons and daughters of oil!
