A Returning Before Full Restoration
In the story of Ruth, both Ruth and Naomi have to RETURN to the Land of Judah in order for Naomi’s inheritance to be redeemed.
We see here in the story of Ruth and Naomi a typology of the gentile remnant and the Jewish remnant needing to first make a return before restoration occurs. The word Aliyah in Hebrew means to ascent. Which means that when the people of God return to the place they belong they are going higher.
Through this typology we see that both remnants need to ascent from a low place into a high place before full restoration occurs.
As the gentile remnant, typified by Ruth, we first need to ascend to the place we have fallen from, as mentioned in revelation 2:4-5
" Yet I hold this against you: you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the works you did at first."
According to this scripture we need to ascent to the high place we have fallen from because we have lost the authority given to us by being seated in high places with Christ. And we can only recover that place by returning to a lovesick bridal love (as the one Ruth had for Boaz), and by returning to the simplicity of the gospel that we see in acts 2:42.
"They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of the bread and to prayer."
On the other hand the Jewish remnant will also have to make a return before its restoration. First it will have to physically return to the land that was given to their forefathers and then it will have to spiritually return to the Lord in Teshuva by accepting Yeshua as the blessed one who comes in the name of the Lord.
When both of these physical an spiritual Aliyahs occur among the Jewish and the gentile remnant we will experience the greatest harvest of all times! Both Ruth and Naomi will be satisfied all through the wheat and barely harvest. And Naomi's full inheritance will be restored.
